Gear and Gadgets
I admit it.. I am a gadget-freak, both electronic gadgets, travel gadgets and other stuff. But I have tried hard and is now managing this with soberness. But wanting to share good experiences I will list some of it here:
Electronics
Laptop
HP ProBook 5310m – Stashed with 4GB memory and Windows7 Pro this laptop is really practical, has good performance, good battery time, lightweight and a have a really good feel. After I abandoned my “home data centre” (previous Lenovo S20 “server”) and went for storage in the cloud the data on this laptop is synced with Sugarsync and MobileMe for access via web and from my iPad and iPhone.
Phone
iPad
Music System
iPod 120GB Classic – the heart of my music system together with 5 Bowers&Wilkins speakers, a Dali sub and a NAD receiver.
Camera
Canon Ixus 300HS – Going from my previous Canon G11, which I in the end found a bit too rugged and heavy to be a compact camera, I decided on this excellent Ixus camera providing both sufficient technical possibilities, a great screen and being a perfect fit in the pocket.
Travel Gear
Backpack 1
LowePro CompuDayPack is a real practical backpack for the one travelling with some electronic gear. Room for laptops, ipods, cameras and all necessarry adapters together with your travel papers. Practical steady bottom with adjustable departments.
Backback 2
The Lowe Alpine TT CArryOn 40 was my choice for my first trip to Thailand, deciding to travel light, as it holds a lot of stash but within regulations for carry on of most major airlines. It has both top and side handles, and harness/shoulder straps. It has a large lockable front zip to give you easy access, a front stash pocket, along with top and internal pockets, compression straps and internal mesh pockets. This will hold at least three change of clothes, an extra pair of shoes, an extra bag, toiletry, towel, iPad, camera, chargers and all traveldocuments.
Carry-On Suitcase
The Samsonite Streamlite is small enough to be considered as carry-on but also holds alot of space.
Even if you carry-on or send it, this one will with some planning hold a week worth of clothes etc.
Wallet
The Exentri Wallet is the greatest ever. Durable and holds a bunch of cards while it doesn’t take space is your pocket.
Additional Luggage
The LifeVenture DriStore Bag is made of tough PU coated waterproof fabric. My one holds 70 litres or 115kg. The great thing is that it takes no extra space in your suitcase but will give you lots of extra space for your new stuff when going home.
