Who do not enjoy travelling? Please, tell me!
From time to time I encounter people that amaze me, both people that amaze in a positive way but also amazement in almost disbelief. How is it possible? I’m not talking about people not travelling because of financial situation, poverty, phase of life, religious communities or limitations in their demographic groups. I am talking about people with normal income, finances under control, house paid in full and all the cars they need outside their house. Why do you want to limit your life to living within your neighborhood of four blocks, maybe visiting your family in a nearby state once a year? Did you a see a program of the world’s eight (or some) wonders on Discovery Channel and thought; “That was it. I have now seen the world. It was nice, but not for me.”
Like I said it amazes me how shallow, self-oriented and ignorant some people are. As we only have one life to live here on earth (some may disagree I know), should we not try to explore as much of it as possible. I don’t mean we should all climb Mount Everest or swim with sharks, but I think one should try to experience and embrace as much of the world we can while we have it. Why not see a Mayan temple and maybe learn something about culture and how our ancestors lived? Why not go to see Cuba before it is ruined (once more) by the combination of tourists and communism? Why not go to Scotland and try their whisky? Have you been struck by a lightening from above that mysteriously gave you knowledge of all aspects of life and humans? If not – try travelling and experiencing life and other people around the world. Even though there are some pretty bad people around and some people are a bit too fanatic for our taste – there are also some pretty amazing people around; People from other countries, other continents, who may have a different religion and even a different way of life. You may not like them or have a need to invite them home, but wouldn’t it be interesting to meet them and see for yourself?
